What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit. Some cookies are set by the website itself (first-party), others by third-party services embedded in the page.
What cookies KitBeacon uses
KitBeacon uses a very small number of cookies. Advertising measurement (the Meta pixel) is optional and only runs if you click Accept on our cookie banner. We do not use any other analytics tools and we do not build profiles of your browsing behaviour.

Apart from remembering your cookie choice, we set no first-party cookies ourselves. We do not use Google Analytics. The Meta pixel is the only advertising technology on this site, and it is off unless you accept.
Third-party cookies in more detail
Meta pixel — a small script from Meta Platforms. If you accept, it records that you visited our site and, when you sign up, that a signup happened. We use this only to measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram. Meta's use of that data is governed by their own policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
Kit (ConvertKit) — our email list provider. When you submit your email via the signup form on our homepage, Kit may set a cookie to manage the subscription process. Kit's cookie use is governed by their own privacy policy at kit.com/privacy.
Stripe — our payment provider. If you click to upgrade to Pro, you are directed to a Stripe-hosted payment page. Stripe uses cookies for fraud prevention and security. Their use is governed by Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Your choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking cookies from Kit may prevent the email signup form from working correctly.

Change your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Reopen the cookie choice. Declining or withdrawing stops the Meta pixel from loading on your next page view.
Do we use a cookie consent banner?
Under GDPR, a cookie consent banner is required when a site uses non-essential cookies (such as analytics or advertising cookies). Yes. Because the Meta pixel is an advertising tool, we ask first. The banner shows Accept and Decline with equal weight, and nothing from Meta loads until you accept. Cookies strictly necessary for Kit and Stripe, which only apply when you choose to sign up or pay, do not need consent.
Changes to this policy
If we start using additional cookies, we will update this policy and notify subscribers if the change is significant.
